What is RollerCoin?

RollerCoin is a gamified mining farm in which you collect various different Miners/Racks and then utilize these to ‘mine’ your cryptocurrency of choice. You are given your own ‘mining room’ which has space for a certain number of racks and then you place your miners onto these racks to mine cryptocurrencies.

It centres around its native token called RollerCoin Token (RLT). This is its main currency used to purchase miners, components and to pay for crafting recipes. RLT can be acquired in different ways, from playing games, completing achievements, utilizing its offer walls and selling unwanted/unneeded miners & components via its Marketplace.

The app positions itself as a game first and not an investment. This is because you can use RollerCoin completely free and never invest any of your own money. There are lots of free-to-play players who are doing very well on RollerCoin, investing anything into RollerCoin will simply speed up your progress but is not required

Your RLT balance will be displayed as the initial currency when signing into RollerCoin:

Your RollerCoin Mining Room

Your mining room is the key component to your RollerCoin journey, this is where you setup your Racks (which are essentially storage space for miners) and then place whatever miners you have onto those racks which then generate crypto. When you begin, your room will be virtually empty and you will need to setup your racks/miners to begin earning.

Once you have setup some racks/miners your room will begin to grow and you will see an assortment of racks and miners. Here is how my current mining room looks:

RollerCoin - My Mining Room

As you can see I have a fully stocked room full of racks and miners. The more you play RollerCoin the more miners you will acquire through participating in events/games and competitions.

Miners and Racks in RollerCoin

RollerCoin is pretty easy to understand with essentially two main components. You have:

Racks: These are what you place your miners on. They come in many different shapes and sizes but they can have a huge impact on your overall earnings. This is because some racks have a ‘Bonus Power %’ statistic, which applies to all miners you place on that rack. I am currently using the racks called ‘Arch Rack 6’. This rack provides each of the miners I place on it a ‘38%’ bonus boost to the power it produces.

Miners: These are what mine and produce your crypto. As with racks there are a huge array of miners to choose from and it can be a little daunting at first but once you get the hang of it you’ll soon learn which miners are best for your setup and offer the best return on your purchase. Your miners have 3 main statistics, these are:

  • Cell(s) – This is how much space on your rack this particular miner uses (most common it is 2 cells which fills a full row of your rack, but you can get single cell miners so you can have 2 per row).
  • Power – This is the raw power of the miner. This can be anything from TH/s all the way up to EH/s for some of the most powerful miners available in the game. The more power your miner has, the more crypto it will produce for you.
  • Bonus % – This is a % multiplier to the base ‘Power’ of your miner. In simple terms, if you have a miner with a base power of ‘1 PH/s’ but the miner has a ‘10%’ bonus, prior to placing on a rack with any additional bonus % that miners effective power becomes 1.1 PH/s

If you place miners on a rack with bonus %, all miners on that rack receive the same bonus to their respective power. Combining high powered miners with high % racks is key to success within RollerCoin. Here is an example of one of my strongest/best performing racks to give you an idea of how it looks in practice:

RollerCoin - My Strongest Rack
RollerCoin - My Strongest Rack

As you can see here, my rack alone gives any miners placed on it a 38% boost in its raw power, this stacks with the individual bonus % of each miner. The bonus % is displayed to the right of the base power (seen in light blue).

This rack does have a slight trade off as it is only a 6 slot rack. This means I can only place 3 miners (2 cell miners) on it, alot of racks offer 8 slots meaning I could fit 4 per rack. However, I decided the bonus power provided by this rack (38%) outweighed the extra slot of the 8 slot racks purely based on the fact it offers a huge 38% bonus to power.

Acquiring Miners/Racks in RollerCoin

There are plenty of ways to grow in RollerCoin by collecting Miners/Racks through participation in the platform. These include but are not limited to:

Purchasing them:

The simplest and fastest way is to deposit some cryptocurrency you already have and convert it to RLT. This will then allow you to purchase miners/racks either from the main store (where there are regular sales of certain miners) or by browsing the player driven market place to buy miners / racks from other players. If using the market place, there are plenty of ways to filter the results to best suite your needs/requirements:

Earning them:

A great feature of RollerCoin is how it utilizes ‘offer walls’ to allow you to earn as much RLT as you’d like (through no cost to yourself) by playing games and completing surveys. Whilst this isn’t for everybody, I have utilized this extensively to earn a lot of RLT to spend on miners/racks in game. I tend to focus on the games as I hate surveys but the option is there should you wish to use it.

They often run special events with the offer walls, increasing payout values by 50% or more to the tasks, this can be a really fun and easy way to grow your RLT without spending any money. Here are some of the currently featured offers, but there are plenty to chose from so it should be easy enough to find one you’d like to do:

Participating in events:

The great thing about RollerCoin is there is always events going on, giving you ample opportunities to passively earning Miners / Racks by doing basic tasks you would already be doing:

RollerCoin - Events
RollerCoin - Events

As you can see, there are currently 4 active events at the time of writing. There is:

Season Pass: RollerCoin has ‘Seasons’ which typically last between 2 or 3 months at a time. There is a ‘free’ tier and a ‘paid’ tier of the season pass, which allows you to earn plenty of rewards as you progress through the season. To progress through the season pass, you need to be completing the daily/weekly quests which you will see on the homepage, to the left of your mining room.

Progression Event: These are much shorter (but more regular) events where you complete activities to earn points, the more points you earn the more tiers you progress through and each tier gives you better rewards than the previous (however the required points do increase as you progress). The main activities are spending RLT through the store/market place, or playing the in-built games RollerCoin offers (more on that shortly).

Expedition: This is a mechanic within RollerCoin that not everyone has access to in the beginning. To participate in expedetions you need to own a ‘Hamster’. You then send the hamsters out on missions and they acquire loot boxes for you. Hamsters will be covered later in the article.

Race Tournaments: These are another regular event in RollerCoin. This is a great way of acquiring miners but do often require you to deposit your own crypto of choice, converting that to RLT and then spending it in the store/market place. If you are planning on investing, I would suggest always doing so when there is a race event taking place so you can maximise your investment.

If you do decide to deposit some of your Crypto to convert to RLT (not required but will substantially speed up progress), always try to pair it with the current ‘token bonus’ at the time. To find out what token(s) are on a bonus offer, go to your wallet, select ‘Rollertoken’ and then you will see a section called ‘Available Discounts’:

RollerCoin - Token Deposit Bonus
RollerCoin - Token Deposit Bonus

As you can see there are currently 2 bonus tokens available. Polygon (with a whopping 40% bonus) and XRP with a 25% bonus.

If your token of choice isn’t on offer, you can always deposit it into RollerCoin and then wait until it is on offer before converting it to RLT. However, I would always recommend you only ever convert to RLT whilst your token is on offer and if possible, pair it with when there is a ‘race tournament’ taking place. This is the very best way of maximising your deposit.

Crafting / Merging Miners in RollerCoin

You may have noticed in the above screenshot, to the right of some of the miners names there is a number and an associated colour.

E.g. the ‘Rio Reveller’ is VI in red. This is the ‘level’ of the miner, you can increase the levels of your miners (which increases its raw power and bonus %) by ‘merging’ miners.

To do this, you need 2 copies of the same miner at the same level and then whatever ‘components’ are required to merge the miners and increase its level.

Here is a basic example of the crafting menu, when looking to upgrade your existing miners:

RollerCoin - Crafting Menu
RollerCoin - Crafting Menu

As you can see, I have 2 copies of the ‘Aegis of Ultramar’ miner.

I have all the required components needed to merge these into a single, level 2 version of this miner.

From this screen you can see the following:

  • 2 copies of the Aeigis of Ultramar Miner
  • It requires 350 ‘common wire’ components (of which I have 365).
  • And I have enough RLT to cover the merging cost of 0.12RLT.

If I were to merge these miners, you will see the that power will go from 120.000TH/s -> 320.000TH/s but crucially the miner will then receieve a 1% bonus to its raw power.

As your miners scale in level/power and bonus %, the requirements to merge up to the next level become increasingly more difficult to acquire and the merge-cost will also increase substantially.

RollerCoin Leagues

Leagues are an incredibly important part of how RollerCoin works and need to be considered carefully when upgrading your mining rooms. Each league has a ‘maximum’ power you can be, before you progress to the next league.

To ensure you are earning as much crypto as you can be, always try to be as close to the top end of your league as possible, without progressing into the next one.

I am currently in ‘Gold II’ league which begins at 2 EH/s (total power) and ends at 5 EH/s (total power):

RollerCoin - Leagues Overview
RollerCoin - Leagues Overview

I have just re-configured all of my miners, upgraded some and purchased some new ones which has grown my power to 4.9EH/s. This is a sweet spot for me to be in right now, as I’m nearing the very top of Gold II, but have not yet moved into Gold II.

I will move into Gold III, when I have saved up some more powerful miners/racks and can increase my power substanially in one go. This is because, being at the top of the previous league, provides much more rewards than being at the very bottom of the next tier.

Leagues also dictate what cryptocurrencies you can mine. Whilst there are plenty to chose from when you first join RollerCoin (including some of the big ones such as BTC), some are only unlocked as you progress though the game.

For example, progressing from Bronze I to Bronze II will unlock the ability to mine BNB.

One last thing to keep in mind when tracking your power to ensure you don’t accidentally go up a league is that ‘My Max Power’ is the metric to keep an eye on. Where as ‘My Current Power’ does not affect your league. The difference is you can earn temporary bonus power through playing the in-built games on RollerCoin / or as temporary bonuses through purchasing certain packages etc.

When on the leagues page, you can scroll down and see ‘My Power’ which will show you the 2 different values:

RollerCoin - Power Values

RollerCoin Games

RollerCoin also has a ‘Game Section’. There are a selection of games to chose from and some of them are actually quite fun.

Every time you win a game, you will go up a level and for every 3 levels you gain the game then increases in difficulty. If there is an ‘Progression Event’ running each time a game increases in difficulty, you will earn points towards your progression event. This is a really easy way of gaining miners through participating in the platform without having to deposit any of our own money.

Also, every time you win a game you have a chance at receieving an award. This can range from small amounts of cryptocurrencies, temporary bonus power (e.g. an extra 1PH/s for 24 hours), crafting parts to help you upgrade your miners and batteries. Batteries are used to power your miners, but each battery lasts for 4 days should you not be able to access RollerCoin for a day or 2.

RollerCoin - Example of Some Games
RollerCoin - Example of Some Games

There are also ‘Achievements’ directly linked to games. For example, ‘Win 100 times in X Game’ and you will be rewarded with 5RLT. Achievement prizes are subject to change (although rarely do), but the requirement to complete these achievements doesn’t change.

The highest achievement per game is 2500 wins. After this, you will no longer receive any rewards for achievements, but will continue to win the rewards such as cryptocurrencies/temporary power and batteries.

RollerCoin Hamsters

Hamsters are another way for you to gain miners/cryptocurrencies and bonus power. These are probably one of the most difficult aspects of RollerCoin to acquire. You cannot purchase them from the market place (at the time of writing, but this may change) and they don’t come up for sale all to often.

Another thing that makes it difficult to acquire a Hamster is that they can actually be quite expensive to initially purchase. Often coming with price tags of around $120 in whatever currency they are being sold in.

However, over time the investment will pay off as the rewards you gain from ‘Expeditions’ are substantial. You gain roughly 12 loot boxes per successful raid (some raids can fail but it doesn’t happen very often) and these lootboxes can contain very powerful rewards.

RollerCoin - Example Expedition Rewards
RollerCoin - Example Expedition Rewards

This is just some of the rewards avaiable for one of the expeditions you can send your Hamster on, some of these miners are quite powerful and will give you a nice boost in mining power. However there are many other awards available on expeditions.

In the image above, you will see an icon and number on the top right of each potential reward. This is key to understanding what you may achieve during your expedition. Your Hamster begins with some base stats and will gain experience for going on expeditions. For each level your Hamster gains, you can add an extra point to your desired stat. Here is an example of my Hamster and its current stats:

RollerCoin - Example Hamster with Stats
RollerCoin - Example Hamster with Stats

You will also see that Hamsters have ‘Abilities’, my Hamsters ability means I gain 50% more loot per expedition that I send it on. There are a large number of different abilities all offering different bonuses/boosts.

Expeditions can last for various time frames (depending on the expedition you select), I generally chose expeditions of 24 hours so that I can start the expedition at a similar time of day each time.

Once an expedition has ended, your Hamster goes on cooldown for the same period of time, e.g. if an expedition is 24 hours, so is the cool down. During the cooldown period, you cannot send your Hamster on another expedition.

Useful RollerCoin Tools

RollerStats in a Chrome plugin that provides more context when viewing items on the ‘Marketplace’, it is a great tool for ensuring you are getting as much value out of your RLT as you can be:

RollerCoin - Marketplace

In the above screenshot, the green rectangles with number in are provided by RollerStats. This shows you how much value per RLT you are getting. A general rule of thumb is to only purchase miners with a score off 1100 or over.

Download RollerStats

RollerCalculator is a relatively new tool but is a fantastic addition to the RollerCoin ecosystem.

You enter your username and it will grab your RollerCoin stats and then tell you in order which Cryptocurrencies are best for you to mine.

It will tell you your ‘Daily’, ‘Weekly’ and ‘Monthly’ earnings per cryptocurrency, and will also tell you how long it will take you to reach enough of each cryptocurrency to be able to make a withdrawal. This is extremely handy in knowing what cryptocurrencies are best for you to be mining to maximise your mining incoming.
